US Introduces Licensing for Anthropic's Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 Models

Recently, Bloomberg published a document that serves as the basis for new restrictions on exporting powerful artificial intelligence models from Anthropic. On June 12, US Secretary of Commerce Howard Latnik sent a letter to Anthropic’s CEO Dario Amodei, stating that a separate license from the Department of Commerce is now required for transferring the Mythos 5 and Fable 5 models outside of the US. This rule applies not only to foreign users but also to those within the US. These measures aim to control the dissemination of technologies that could be used for harmful purposes.
