Researchers from the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge at HSE conducted an analysis of Russian internet users' behavior regarding information verification. The results indicate that more than 50% of respondents are willing to take steps to verify suspicious data. The most common method is searching for the original source of information.
It is important to note that various factors influence users' willingness to undertake such verification. Specifically, age, place of residence, social status, and digital skills play a significant role. Additionally, the use of artificial intelligence tools also affects approaches to evaluating information. These findings were published in the journal "Monitoring of Public Opinion: Economic and Social Changes" and highlight the importance of critical thinking in the digital age.
