Snap's Revolutionary AR Glasses Set to Launch at a Premium Price
Snap Inc. is on the verge of a groundbreaking release with its augmented reality glasses, dubbed Specs, which the company describes as "a wearable computer built into see-through augmented reality glasses." Priced at a staggering $2,195, these innovative glasses can now be preordered at specs.com with a refundable deposit of $200. The anticipated shipping window for Specs is set for this fall, targeting customers in the United States, the United Kingdom, and France.
This launch marks a pivotal moment for Snap, which made its initial foray into smart eyewear with the original Spectacles back in 2016. Since then, the company has been diligently developing non-public versions of AR glasses, positioning itself for a major consumer release. CEO Evan Spiegel had previously hinted at a 2026 launch for consumer AR glasses, but it seems Snap is ready to unveil its tech sooner than expected, signaling its commitment to shaping the future of augmented reality.
