About the Company
Rockup is a startup creating a new format of social networking and messaging focusing on real-time geolocation. Imagine Telegram meets Tinder, but with an emphasis on location and the community around you right here and now.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop a scalable backend for the mobile application.
- Implement real-time communications and geolocation services.
- Optimize APIs for smooth and fast UX on mobile devices.
- Make key decisions on stack technologies, infrastructure, and processes.
- Set up CI/CD, test and deploy code without pain.
- Work closely with mobile developers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in backend development (ideally in highload/B2C mobile applications).
- Strong knowledge of Java and understanding of scalable architectures.
- Experience with RESTful and WebSocket APIs.
- Excellent knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL and geo-tools like PostGIS).
- Experience with clouds (AWS/GCP/Azure) and Docker.
- Understanding of security: OWASP Top 10, GDPR/HIPAA.
- English at Upper-Intermediate level (Russian will be a plus).
