Google is making a comeback in the smart speaker arena with the launch of its Google Home Speaker, set to start shipping on June 29. This device, which was initially announced nine months ago, maintains a price point of $99 and features a design that remains largely unchanged from past models. The Google Home Speaker retains its signature slightly squished round shape, complete with touch-capacitive buttons on the top and a light ring at the base to indicate its status.
Available in four distinct colors—porcelain (white), hazel (black), jade (green), and berry (red)—the latter two are exclusive to the US market. This launch comes as Google aims to enhance its smart home ecosystem, integrating the speaker with its Gemini for Home platform. As the tech giant gears up for this release, interested customers can place their preorders starting June 17, 2023.
